Typical Family & Friends Weekend

Friday | Arrival & Settle In

  • Afternoon arrival and check-in

  • Unpack and settle into your habitat-style units

  • Stop by Hive & Harvest for coffee, snacks, or easy dinner provisions, or drive to The Lost River Butcher Block for locally raised meats for the smoker or grill

  • Cook a group dinner (think hot dogs & hamburgers or steaks on the grill)

  • Light the firepit (s’mores for dessert!) and enjoy a relaxed first evening under the stars

Saturday | Together Time & Open Space

  • Morning coffee on screened porches and decks, alone or with friends!

  • Early risers can season up some ribs, brisket or pork butt and turn on the smoker (some recipes take 9 hours, some only 30 minutes). Get some recipes for the Traeger smoker, here.

  • Optional guided or self-guided yoga or meditation session in the Flow Dome

  • Late breakfast or brunch cooked together on the outdoor griddle (think pancakes, bacon & eggs)

  • Midday options (check out the Area Attractions)

    • Hike or bike local trails

    • Take an easy walk/hike on a wide trail to Rockcliff Lake. Bring snacks, a picnic or even take a dip in the clear mountain lake!

    • Relax in hammocks or the sauna

    • Drive into Wardensville or to some local shops around the Valley

    • Watch the goats and chickens wander the pasture

  • Afternoon downtime or optional massage sessions

  • Happy hour and savory s’mores by the fire before dinner

  • Evening group dinner (think BBQ ribs or brisket, fajitas, grilled chicken or kebabs)

  • Movie night, games, or conversation in The Commons - inside or on the back porch

Sunday | Slow Morning & Departure

  • Casual breakfast and final coffee run to Hive & Harvest

  • Hang around the property or one last sauna session

  • Pack up at an easy pace and depart feeling rested and reconnected
