General Policies
Welcome to Honeylight Glamping! Our retreat blends comfort, nature, and adventure. This is an exclusive property where every guest reservation is both important and special to us. To ensure a wonderful stay for all guests, please review our policies below.
At the time of booking, you will be charged 50% of the booking fee. 2 weeks from your check in date, the remaining balance will be automatically charged to your credit card. West Virginia State Tax will be added to all reservations.
100% of payment is refundable when canceled 30 days before scheduled booking.
Less than 30 days but greater than 14 days before check in, cancellations are non-refundable but one date change or credit for a future stay is permitted. Please note: if date change occurs or credit is given for a future stay, this reservation is not eligible for future cancellation or alternate changes. The guest will be responsible for the difference in cost if switching to dates with a higher nightly rate.
14 days or less from check in date, date changes or credits are not permitted and cancellations are not eligible for refund.
If we have to cancel your booking for any reason, you will receive a full refund.
During the winter season, if highways are closed and you are unable to get to Back Forty for your stay, you will receive credit towards booking at a later date.
Rates/policies are subject to change and vary during high impact periods and special requests. A 30-day cancellation notice is required on some holidays and special events.
Check-in/Check-out:
Corporate Retreats: Tuesdays 2 pm to Thursdays 11 am
Private (weekend) Retreats: Fridays 4 pm - Sundays 2 pm.
If arriving outside of check-in times, please call to make arrangements. Guests will receive detailed check-in instructions before arrival.

Absolutely No Smoking Inside. A $250 fee applies for any indoor smoking.
Dog Policy: Guests can bring up to 99 well-behaved dogs per reservation at no additional fee. Dogs must have all current vaccinations. Please call us for any questions or concerns. Dogs are welcome in all units except for the Airstream. Dogs must be leashed on property unless all guests are comfortable with off-leash dogs. Dogs must be supervised at all times and not left alone in the units or onsite. Please be a respectful dog owner and pick up after your dog. Dog waste receptacles are located throughout the property. Owners are responsible for any damage or incidents caused by their dog(s). Honeylight Glamping is not liable for any incidents involving dogs.
Maximum Occupancy: 22 people per reservation. However, we can accommodate additional guests in camping tents with cots provided. Please call to make arrangements. Extra fees will apply.
Quiet Hours: From 10 PM to 7 AM. Please respect the peaceful nature of the retreat and our neighbors.
No Unregistered Visitors: Only registered guests are allowed on the property unless approved by management.
Children Welcome: Families are encouraged to visit, but children must be supervised at all times.
Guests are welcome to visit our resident chickens and goats, but no guests may enter the pens unless accompanied by a Honeylight Glamping staff member. No dogs allowed in the animal enclosures at any time.
Fire Safety: Campfires are only allowed in designated fire pits. Absolutely no campfires in an undesignated area. Always fully extinguish fires before leaving the area. There may be state restrictions on fires and we will communicate them if they are in effect during your stay.
Alcohol Policy: Personal alcohol is permitted. Excessive noise or disruptive behavior due to alcohol is not tolerated.
Wildlife Awareness: Respect the natural environment—do not feed or disturb wildlife.
Corporate Retreats & Groups:
Event Approval: Corporate retreats and small gatherings are welcome but must be pre-approved. Larger events may require additional fees.
Outdoor Activities: Please schedule team-building activities that require set-up (e.g., workshops or guided hikes) with our staff..
Catering & Provisions: Outside catering and/or provisions can be arranged in advance of your stay. Vendors must follow site rules.
WiFi: Reliable Wi-Fi is available throughout the property, but please note that we are in a rural location and Wifi may not be 100% reliable.
Property & Housekeeping:
Eco-Friendly Commitment: We practice sustainability—please use provided composting, recycling, and trash bins accordingly. Please limit plastic use and bring your own water bottle. Our mountain water is safe, delicious and filtered.
Leave No Trace: Keep accommodations and shared spaces clean. Additional cleaning fees apply if units are left excessively dirty.
Do not leave food or loose trash outside. Critters live in the area and love free food.
Damages & Fees: Guests are responsible for damages beyond normal wear and tear. Fees will be assessed if necessary.
Cancellation Policy: Refunds and cancellation terms are outlined at booking. Rescheduling may be possible based on availability.
Liability:
Honeylight Glamping is not liable for lost, damaged or missing pieces of personal property while on site including luggage, jewelry, vehicles or electronics.
Honeylight Glamping is not liable for any injuries incurred while on site.
Honeylight Glamping is not responsible for incidents involving dogs, other guests or weather.
Damage:
Please report any damages that happen during your stay so they can be promptly addressed. A damage fee may be charged to your credit card under the following conditions:
Excessive garbage and mess
Damage caused by dogs including chewing or soiling furniture. Please use the provided blankets to protect bedding and furniture.
Broken or missing items
Evidence of smoking inside ($250 minimum fine)
Other Rules:
Fireworks are prohibited
No hunting or firearms
No day visitors are allowed without prior approval
